Laura Billak began The Finer Points Coastal, LLC in the Outer Banks with a great love for the area. She has a strong background in Etiquette and Protocol in the field of Events and Hospitality. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations Communication with a minor in Art Design from George Mason University (BA), she earned a Masters in Event Management through International Institute of Event Management (M.EM). After years of working in Corporate Government Contracting as Director of Human Resources and Public Relations, she began applying her knowledge to Corporate Event Planning, which further extended into formal social events and wedding planning. Laura has also obtained certifications from the International School of Protocol in the areas of Social Etiquette, Communications Etiquette and Dining Etiquette in both American and Continental Protocol and in 2005 founded the award-winning etiquette consulting company P’s and Q’s®. Laura has more than 20+ years of event planning experience and uses her background, fun nature, and creativity to help make every client's particular vision come to life. Laura is a Certified Event Designer (CED), Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA), and member of the Outer Banks Wedding Association and Currituck Chamber of Commerce. Laura is a court appointed Notary Public, as well as an Ordained Minister and legal Civil Celebrant in NC. She is known for being “kind, detail oriented, creative and having a calm reassuring nature for her clients”. Laura is married to her high school sweetheart, mother to 3 children and her fur baby, an English Black Lab named “Sadie”. She firmly believes that through the thoughtful consideration of others, we all can harness the key to a happy life.

Sydney graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelors of Science in Communication majoring in Public Relations, and minoring in Entrepreneurship. Sydney brings a strong background in marketing and social media, along with several years of customer service and hospitality experience in fast-paced, client-focused environments. She has a passion for weddings and events and is dedicated to helping couples create beautiful, memorable celebrations. She is a member of the Outer Banks Wedding Association and Currituck Chamber of Commerce. She has cherished the Outer Banks and its natural beauty her entire life, and feels especially inspired by the coastal setting and outdoor lifestyle that make OBX weddings so unique. Known for her outgoing and friendly personality, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities, Sydney enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure every celebration runs smoothly and reflects each client’s vision. Sydney is thrilled to represent The Finer Points Coastal and support our couples throughout the planning process using her creative talents, design and organizational skills to help bring our clients wedding dreams to life. Outside of work, Sydney loves embracing the beauty of the Outer Banks whether she is paddle boarding on the sound, relaxing at the beach, boating, fishing, or catching a gorgeous OBX sunrise and sunset. She also enjoys traveling, golfing, playing tennis, and making memories with friends and family.

Victoria Brooks joined The Finer Points Coastal in 2020. Tori was born and raised on the east coast and a native to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She has a passion for events and loves the beauty in coastal weddings. Victoria has a strong background in marketing and is a certified International Event and Wedding Professional (IEWP) and Certified Event Designer (CED) through QC Event School awarded by the International Live Events Association. Victoria is Director of Events for The Finer Points Coastal and Director of National and Regional Conferences and Conventions for Organization Management Group. She is a member of the Outer Banks Wedding Association and Currituck Chamber of Commerce. She uses her knowledge of the coastal area and trusted relationships with local vendors to create beautiful and memorable events. Victoria’s creative eye and talented ability as well as attention to detail helps her make client's wedding visions come to life. Clients have commented on Victoria’s “professionalism, southern courtesy and ability to direct an event in complete organization with a calm disposition”. Victoria and her family have 4 dogs; Talon, a Belgian Malinois, Argo, a German Shepherd, Kenna, a German Shepherd and Odin, a Belgian Malinois. Victoria is the wife to her high school sweetheart, and has 3 children. Victoria is an instrumental lead for The Finer Coastal Team!

In addition to these personal attributes, Laura is proud of the educational backgrounds of her teams. Laura, as previous owner of The Finer Points Event Planning in VA, and current owner of The Finer Points Coastal based in Outer Banks, works hard to assemble teams that are highly trained and educated in the field of hospitality and events with completed Bachelor’s degrees, Master’s degrees and Certifications in the Events and Management Fields of Study to ensure the utmost professionalism and passion for their clients events.
